How tri-dev/murti came into existence
In Hinduism, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are considered to be the most revered among all the gods. According to religious texts, the Supreme Father Brahma has been considered the creator of the universe while Lord Vishnu has been considered the follower of the universe and Lord Shiva as the destroyer of this creation. But, a question always arises in the minds of those who believe in Hindu religion, that is, how Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh originated and who is the best among them.
According to the Shiva Purana, Lord Shiva was not born, he is himself a land, that is, he did not appear. He is the formless God who passed away when the whole world was dark, neither water nor fire nor air. Till then there were only Sadakams which have been called Sat in Hindu Shrutis, that is to say, the Parbrahm period, after some time, expressed the desire to be second and within him a resolve to be multiple.
Then that God conceived the shape of his Leela Shakti, which in the idolless tradition is the ultimate religion i.e. one letter Brahma and that hard work is called Lord Sadashiva. Sadashiva then revealed Shakti Swaroopa Janani who was called Ambika. Then Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh originated from this Brahma[legendary form] – Sadashiva and Ambika. It is believed that both of these people first originated Lord Shiva, who called it with the help of creation.
• Now this question must have arisen in your mind why the exterminator first. So , we have to understand that destruction is the mother of creation.
How will there be a new birth until something is destroyed. Vasuki in the throat, Ganges in the head and Shiva, consumed on the body, we know and worship this form of Shiva in real form. After some time, while wishing, a desire arose in the mind of Sadashiva that another man also needed to create the one on whom he should wear the work of creation and wear Nirvana, by deciding that Sadashiv, like God with power, rubbed the nectar on his son-in-law, A man appeared.
Shiva addressed the man and said, “O Vatsa, because you are wide, you will be known as Vishnu. After this, Lord Shiva produced a divine light from his right limb and put it in the lotus navel of Vishnu. After some time, Lord Brahma was born from the navel lotus of Vishnu. That is, we can assume that the parents of the trinity are Parabrahm Sadasiva and Shakti Swaroopa Ambika. So, it’s the story related to the birth of Trideva.
But now the question is also arising in your mind that who is the most powerful of Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh to go to Tridev, then let me tell you that a story related to it is described in our scriptures According to this –
• when one day there was a debate between Lord Vishnu and Brahma, who is the greatest. Then Lord Shiva came among them in the form of a front pillar. Both of them were not yet able to understand the secret that suddenly a divine voice was formed. Whoever of you will take the end of this pillar is the greatest
Will be called. It was decided that the upper part of the Brahma Shakti pillar would resonate and the lower Vishnu. On hearing this, Brahmaji took the form of a bird and set out to find the upper part of the pillar. At the same time, Vishnu took the form of Varaha and did not start inside the pillar. A lot of time passed while searching. Even after searching a lot, neither of them found the end of the pillar and both eventually gave up. Lord Vishnu and Brahma started from here and returned.
After which Lord Shiva came in his true form and Lord Vishnu and Brahma agreed that Lord Shiva is the greatest and powerful, not both of them. This Shakti Pillar is a symbol of their birth and death and that is why it is said that Lord Shiva is Swayambhu i.e. immortal. Apart from this story, another story has been described in our religious texts, which is a test of who is the most powerful among the trinity. According to the second story, once Lord Shiva got the idea that if I am a destroyer, can I destroy everything.
Can I also destroy Brahma and Vishnu. Will my powers work on them? On the other hand, when Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu came to know about these thoughts going on in the mind of Lord Shiva, they both started smiling and then Brahma said that this is Budhinath. Why don’t you try your powers on me. I am also eager to know that the Almighty among the three of us
Hearing this, he could not stay with Vishnu and he too started stubbornly asking Shiva. Then Lord Shiva hesitantly used his powers over Brahma. After this, Brahmaji was burnt to ashes and a small pile of one night was replaced in his place. Shiva got worried after seeing this and started thinking in his mind that what I have done, what will happen to this rain. And then that night when he started lifting his fist, Brahma appeared from the ashes and he said, Shiva, I have not gone anywhere, I am here. Due to my destruction, this ash was created and wherever it is created, I am there, that’s why I was not resolved by your powers.
Hearing this, Lord Vishnu smiled and said, Mahadev. I am the protector of the world. I also want to see if I can protect myself with your powers. Please exercise your powers on me too. At first Lord Shiva refused to hear this, but when Brahma too started stubbornly, then Shiva also settled Vishnu with his powers. In place of Vishnu, there was a pile of ash now but his voice was still coming from the pile of ash. Vishnuji was saying to Shiva that I am here right now. You have not stopped and use your powers on this ash as well and keep on till the last particle of this ash is gone. Hearing this, Lord Shiva intensified his powers. Started to decrease and end
There had only one particle of Usra left. Lord Shiva exerted all his powers but could not abolish this particle. Lord Vishnu appeared from the last particle with the same body and proved that even Lord Shiva cannot reconcile him. Seeing this, Lord Shiva thought in his mind that I cannot solve Brahma and Vishnu directly, but if I destroy myself then they too will end because if I am not there then destruction will not be possible and without destruction How was creation? Therefore, Brahma and Vishnu ji will also not be there.
After which Lord Shiva self-destructed and it happened just as he was thinking. As they were burnt to ashes. Brahma and Vishnu also turned to ashes. For a while the whole creation became dark. There was nothing but the ashes of those three gods. A voice came from the pile of that ash, I am Brahma, I see that the ash has been created here and where it is composed, I am also there. Similarly, Brahma was born before that ashes followed by Vishnu and then Shiva.
Because where creation takes place, life comes first and then destruction. In this way Lord Shiva realized that the destruction of Tridev is impossible and no one is more powerful or less important than the other. I hope that through this article of today you must have learned something new about our trinity. If you shared this blog, then please share more and more.
